La precettoria di Sant'Antonio di Ranverso è situata a Buttigliera Alta, in provincia di Torino, all'ingresso della Valle di Susa. Il complesso fu fondato nel 1188 da Umberto III di Savoia e dato in uso ai canonici regolari di Sant'Antonio di Vienne, con l'intento di creare un punto di assistenza per i pellegrini e un centro di trattamento di coloro i quali erano afflitti dal "fuoco di sant'Antonio". Con l'avvento dell'epidemia di peste della seconda metà del XIV secolo la precettoria ospiterà anche gli affetti da questa terribile malattia. L'isolamento delle piaghe infette avveniva attraverso il grasso dei maiali per evitare l'espandersi dell'infezione. Il richiamo all'iconografia di sant'Antonio abate è esplicita: il santo appare sempre accanto ad un maialino. La precettoria fu rimodellata molte volte nel corso dei secoli, alterandone fortemente la forma originale. Comprendeva inizialmente un ospedale, di cui rimane solo una facciata, la precettoria e la chiesa. La chiesa stessa appare oggi nello stile gotico-lombardo, del rifacimento dei secoli XIV e XV. Adiacente alla chiesa vi è il campanile, eretto in stile gotico dal 1300. All'interno i muri sono decorati con numerosi affreschi a partire dal XIII secolo, alcuni dei quali dipinti da Giacomo Jaquerio agli inizi del Quattrocento. Fra le opere di questo artista si conserva inoltre la scena Salita al Calvario nella sacrestia, capolavoro dell'artista e del Gotico internazionale in Piemonte. Nel presbiterio vi è un polittico di Defendente Ferrari del 1531, il quale include porte dipinte per la protezione dell'opera principale. Nel 1776 Papa Pio VI assegnò la proprietà della precettoria all'ordine Mauriziano, a cui è affidata tuttora.
