Simile ad un'enorme zolla zuccherosa sospesa in mezzo al mare, l'isola Pan di Zucchero in Sardegna crea la suggestiva cornice scenografica ammirabile dalla spiaggia omonima nell'insenatura di Masua, situata lungo la costa iglesiente. Un faraglione calcareo, alto 133 m, caratterizzato da un colore chiaro e dalla superficie a gradini piatti che si estende per 3,72 ettari, nelle pareti sud e a nord traforato da due grandi archi all'interno che creano fenomeni carsici con gallerie praticabili anche in barca. L'isola si è formata in seguito all'erosione e allontanamento della terraferma di Punta Is Cicalas.
