This oil beetle was photographed 3 weekends ago. Because I've started seeing bees, ladybirds and bugs since the beginning of February I decided to try an early morning macro session in my favorite place. And I've found a couple of bugs... Who would've thought that field macro shooting was possible so early! Anyway, I was very happy to photograph insects again, it really made my day. :-) Stack info: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon MP-E 65 lens 44 natural light exposures at f5.6, ISO 100 Magnification: 1.4X |

sorry if I ask a question from novice to insects, but it seems abandoned on itself, with its legs without grip and head lowered, due to the cold dawn? scusate se pongo un quesito da inesperto di insetti, ma mi sembra abbandonato su se stesso, con le zampe senza presa e testa abbassata, effetto del freddo dell'alba? |

Thank you all! @Sigismondi - The things without the grip are actually the antennas, they are quite large! Don't let yourself fooled, this beetle falled back into the grass after a couple of minutes. It was alive and unharmed in any way! |
