Chazara briseis Linneus 1764 Nome Volgare: Briseide Famiglia: Nymphalidae Sottofamiglia: Satyirinae Lunghezza ala anteriore mm. 23 - 33 Descrizione: margine anteriore delle psaa biancastro. Si può confondere con Hipparchia fagi e Hipparchia hermione, che però hanno il margine anteriore delle psaa scuro; con Kanetisa circe, che è più scura, ha un solo ocello sulle aa e una striscia bianca più evidente. Maschio: colore bruno scuro. Nelle ali anteriori fascia postdiscale bianca, suddivisa dalle nervature in diversi spazi. Sono presenti due macchie rotonde scure tra la prima e la seconda nervatura mediana e tra la prima e la seconda cubitale. Femmina: simile al maschio, ma più grande, con fascia bianca postdiscale più ampia, macchie rotonde delle ali anteriori pupillate di bianco Distribuzione: presente in tutta Italia esclusa la Sardegna e l'Isola d'Elba. Habitat: specie xerotermofila, si rinviene nelle pendici scoperte del piano basale e montano, da 300 sino a circa 1.600 m. s.l.m. Generazioni annuali: una sola, con sfarfallamento in luglio-agosto Piante nutrici: Sesleria varia, Brachypodium sp., Lolium sp., Poa sp.,
