at 400mm, 1/800 f/5.6, ISO 640, hand held. Komodo and Rintja, Indonesia. Specie: Varanus komodoensis

Trekking in the park allows us to closely observe some morphological and behavioral aspects of this species.

Hello Fabio
I was there in September
4 half-sleeping lizards and hundreds of tourists to be photographed by the guides (yes the guides) near the monitor lizards., not to mention the 72 souvenir stalls ... a real pagliacciata.ma I imagine he was luckier than me. ;-)

Thank you!
Commissioner71, you're right... Unfortunately, if you travel with organized tourist tours, the risks are precisely those described in your comment.
I too have seen waves of tourists with the sole purpose of taking a selfie with the Dragons... a sadness :-(
The same goes for the Orangutans or some African safaris or the Penisula Valdes.
The advice is to look for an alternative and extremely independent trip... and exclusive, to have first of all a trip to remember.
In our private trek (about 3 hours) we visited some non-'touristy' areas of the park and on this occasion we also met two subjects in the mating phase. ;-)
Greetings
Fabio

For a wildlife photographer like you, it must have been an exciting moment to capture... Did you succeed?
