Prima di lasciare alle didascalie la spiegazione dell'opera mi permetto di esprimere il mio stupore nel percorrere queste opere al suo interno, sensazioni uniche tra le lamine che ti avvolgono e si aprono a seconda della posizione e forma delle medesime. The Matter of Time permette allo spettatore di percepire l'evoluzione delle forme scultoree dell'artista, dalla relativa semplicità di una doppia ellisse alla complessità di una spirale. Gli ultimi due pezzi di questa scultura sono creati da sezioni di tori e sfere che producono effetti diversi sul movimento e sulla percezione dello spettatore. Questi si trasformano inaspettatamente mentre il visitatore li attraversa e li circonda, creando un'indimenticabile e vertiginosa sensazione di spazio in movimento. L'intera stanza fa parte del campo scultoreo. Come ha fatto in altre sculture composte da molti pezzi, l'artista ha disposto le opere deliberatamente in modo da muovere lo spettatore attraverso di esse e attraverso lo spazio che le circonda. La disposizione delle opere lungo la galleria crea corridoi dalle proporzioni diverse, sempre inaspettate (largo, stretto, lungo, compresso, alto, basso). L'installazione prevede anche una progressione nel tempo. Da un lato c'è il tempo cronologico che occorre per percorrerlo e osservarlo dall'inizio alla fine. Dall'altro c'è il tempo durante il quale lo spettatore sperimenta i frammenti della memoria visiva e fisica, che vengono combinati e rivissuti. (Fonte Guggenheim Bilbao Museoa)
