Congratulations for the digital acquisition and restoration (for the record: the two things are a good part of my current work... although fortunately with less damaged photos). It's damaged a lot... And DOUBLE kudos for doing everything with Gimp, which has an interface that makes me want to punch my desk (I appreciate the fact that they created this whole feature-packed contraption for free).

A recovery that made one of the protagonists of this family shot happy. From what you can see, it's a great recovery.
Great job, you gave a great emotion.

Wow! Very kind! Sergio, Roberto, Claudio, Stefano, Gazebo, Diodato, Carlo, Fabio, Nino, Alessandro, Giovanni! Thank you very much to all for the passages and your comments;
I've been using GIMP for years on a Linux computer, I think the interface is a matter of familiarization and habit; as for many other images in this gallery the final result depends on GIMP and the desire to get a certain result taking into account a lot of patience and a lot of time :-) ; hello, best regards to all, Giancarlo

) : dear Fabio, do you want to put the satisfaction of doing it yourself? :-P

GIMP - I've always found the UI a bit difficult, but it has two great advantages (it was born for Linux, it's free) - a great software, by the way.
Beautiful and successful your ... exhumation.
Congratulations Giancarlo.
Hello!
marco :-P
