costruzione a dir poco inquietante ma che comunque come spesso accade quando si visitano questi luoghi si viene a creare un alea di mistero, e francamente in questo caso anche di disagio. e quindi fatto le doverose ricerche è risultato che : La chiesa fa parte di un immenso sito destinato a ricevere i lebbrosi di tutte le isole Canarie e si trova in posizione centrale rispetto a circa 40 edifici che vanno dalle camerate che dovevano ospitare i malati , ad una specie di ospedale , un crematorio alle case dei direttori ecc. Tutto questo fu costruito tutto sommato in epoche recenti (inizio nel 1943) e fu voluto espressamente dal dittatore Franco , in quel tempo le isole Canarie per diverse cause avevano un numero impressionante di contagi e per limitare il proliferare si pensava di portarli li in definitiva a morire. il progetto visto le dimensioni, e il periodo storico subì dei ritardi nel tempo e i malati vennero indirizzati in un altra isola , poi l avvento delle cure , fece si che rimase inutilizzato . la chiesa con il tetto in cemento armato e una croce enorme visibile da lontano esprime l' ideologia nazional cattolica del regime franchista del dopoguerra. una combinazione abbastanza terrificante.
