Tanti cari auguri a tutti per un sereno Natale ed un felice e prospero 2024. Il Presepe nel Salento ha avuto sempre una storia lunga e interessante, molto più antica rispetto a quella della tradizione della cartapesta ed i suoi devotissimi maestri. Una storia che ha le sue radici nel Medioevo, poco tempo dopo che San Francesco d'Assisi desse inizio alla sublime Rappresentazione e fosse imitato ben presto da tutte le genti della Cristianità. A Gallipoli incontriamo l'opera di uno straordinario artista, Stefano da Putignano (1470 circa – 1539 circa), uno scultore e architetto che operò anche in giro per l'Italia meridionale e che ha lasciato nel Salento diverse tracce di sé. Qui siamo all'interno della chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi.
