Da fine ottobre a inizio dicembre la spiaggia di Donna Nook (che negli altri periodi dell'anno è un poligono di tiro per l'esercito inglese) si anima di centinaia di esemplari di Foca grigia, soprattutto di femmine che arrivando dal Mare del Nord la raggiungono per partorire. Verso la metà di novembre la concentrazione di animali è altissima, con decine di cuccioli dal pelo bianchissimo sdraiati nell'erba o sulla sabbia. Un comodo sentiero consente a migliaia di visitatori di partecipare a questo incredibile spettacolo, che dura solo poche settimane.
