A monte del Rifugio Levi-Molinari c'era una volta il piccolo Lago delle Monache. Il nome deriva da una leggenda piuttosto originale. Il Lago delle Monache anticamente era situato nei pressi del Rifugio ed era la meta delle gite per le Monache che vivevano in un vicino villaggio; ma era anche la meta dei militari che occupavano il Rifugio. Una notte, per evitare che questa frequentazione degenerasse, un solerte angelo del Signore decise di spostare il Lago delle Monache nella posizione attuale, cioè 700metri di dislivello più in alto... Leggende a parte, il lago "c'era" perchè ora purtroppo è sparito completamente. E quindi non rappresenta più una "tentazione" per nessuno...Volgendo lo sguardo a valle, si apre tutta la Valle di Susa: a destra, emergenti dallo smog e dalle nebbie autunnali, si possono vedere la Sacra di San Michele ed addirittura la Basilica di Superga.
