Valtaleggio (BG) ai confini con la Valsassina (LC), un tempo zona di passaggio e scambio tra il ducato di Milano e la rep. Veneta (la Serenissima). Questa valle laterale della Val Brembana, che dà il nome al famoso formaggio, spicca per una caratteristica unica tra tutte le valli delle Alpi: ed è la forma e la fattura dei tetti delle baite, tutti molto spioventi e con tegole (piode) relativamente piccole e tutte squadrate.
