, 1/160 f/5.6, ISO 400, tripod.

Commenti, osservazioni, critiche, opinioni sempre benvenute.

First tests with a tripod and a flash shot at 1/64.

I would say that as a first experiment the result is more than good given the good sharpness obtained on the subject.
It is also good for the management of artificial light, which is well diffused.
Personally, given the background, I would have opted for an additional aperture closure, but this is just my choice.

Thanks Mario, the light was good and I helped with a flash tap: you can see it mostly on the wings.
Thank you Pigi.
In fact, I'm doing various tests with the aperture when I can with the same subject, but it's not like they sit still and wait...
It's just that I really like the blur of this lens, so I tend not to close too much; then, given the shallow depth of field at these distances - between 19 and 40 cm - I think that even at f11 there would have been a more than sufficient detachment from the background and a very similar blur.
Greetings to you.

Thanks Emiliano, I've just started macro, almost as a fallback, and I'm having a lot of fun.
The tiger fly is one of my favorite subjects.

Thank you Diodato, very kind.
My recent approach to macro has really made me discover a world in a small piece of land.

The caption you wrote is interesting, Mauro. A naturalistic calendar macro. Very good, hello.

It was a discovery for me too. Then I realized that there were a lot of them in that small space. It's the fly that fascinates me the most.
Thank you for your appreciation Gion.
