Castello di Mirafiori a Sommariva Perno. A sud-est del concentrico, è citato sin dal 1153, quando papa Eugenio III lo infeuda ai potenti "domini de Summaripa". Dopo essere stato per lungo tempo possesso degli Isnardi e poi di Conreno Roero, perdette gradualmente il carattere di casaforte per assumere quello di residenza signorile. Ristrutturato e ingrandito dai Carron di St-Thomas che lo avevano acquistato da Don Felice di Savoia nel 1644, perviene nel 1857 a Re Vittorio Emanuele II, che lo trasforma in residenza di caccia e dimora della moglie morganatica Rosa Vercellana, contessa di Mirafiori, popolarmente conosciuta come la "Bela Rosin". All'interno si trovano sale con trofei di caccia, bandiere e cimeli ottocenteschi, specialmente riferiti al Re e al ministro Cavour. Circondano il castello terrazze bastionate e un vasto parco. Attualmente è di proprietà dei marchesi Gromis di Trana, discendenti della Contessa di Mirafiori, e non è aperto al pubblico. Posto all'inizio della salita di Via Vittorio Emanuele provenendo da sud-est, è la porta che immette nel centro storico. Nei pressi, con ogni probabilità, sorgeva anticamente la porta inferiore o sottana, che immetteva nel "ricetto" del borgo. La costruzione, merlata e di chiara derivazione neogotica, testimonia della "grande storia" che ha interessato Sommariva Perno nell'800. Riporta infatti la lapide con la quale i Sommarivesi vollero ringraziare, nel 1888, Vittorio Emanuele II, il "Re galantuomo", che, partendo da quest'angolo del Roero per la Terza Guerra di Indipendenza, avrebbe esclamato "Qui farò ritorno quando avrò reso l'Italia indipendente ed una".
