Lui è uno dei più straordinari scultori della scuola Gardenese. La sua vita è trascorsa in un rapporto quasi simbiotico con la natura delle magnifiche montagne che lo circondano, fino a far suoi i dettagli più fini degli animali simbolo di queste terre di confine in cui è il ladino l'idioma dominante. Non v'è traccia alcuna di boria nei suoi gesti e nelle poche parole. Eppure ai miei occhi le sue capacità appaiono stupefacenti. Osservo questa creatura lignea: il piumaggio delle ampie ali, il becco forte e ricurvo, i poderosi artigli delle dita. Sino all'iride capace di trasmetterne la natura rapace. A fissarla bene, sembra di percepirne persino l'intenzione del volo.
