Anche la Sardegna ha ricevuto i primi 6 HTR 412 in servizio fra Cagliari, Carbonia ed Oristano. Questi mezzi possono viaggiare sotto la catenaria a 3 KV che in Sardegna non è presente, sono dotati di motore MTU 12 cilindri per le linee non elettrificate ed un pacco batterie al litio da 66 Kwh.
