Stralcio di un articolo tratto da Cremona sera a cura di Fabrizio Loffi. ... E, per tornare al tema del salto, c'è effettivamente un “salto” di quattro secoli tra il lavoro di Michele e lo straordinario ritratto (ma attenzione al gioco della cornice, che se ne distacca per antitesi ma vi si integra cromaticamente!) che campeggia nel mezzo della galleria, attribuito al Malosso. Siamo verso la fine del Cinquecento ed il personaggio ritratto con dovizia di particolari potrebbe essere un medico, a giudicarsi dal fatto che, al suo fianco, è posta una sfera armillare, simbolo di conoscenza, e, con il palmo della mano rivolto verso l'alto, indichi un trattato di Ippocrate aperto davanti a sé, dove sono leggibili alcune frasi. Di estrema finezza il fazzoletto che regge con la mano sinistra, le pieghe ombreggiate dello stesso austero vestito nero su cui risalta l'immacolata gorgiera, ed una generica preziosità pittorica che rimanda ai lavori dell'ultimo Bernardino Campi. Un contrasto più netto non poteva esserci, eppure, per quella strana alchimia che presiede all'arte, i due lavori si integrano reciprocamente. E ad evidenziare il fatto che l'arte, in fondo, è fatta di continui richiami, equilibri e sensazioni che valicano il tempo e lo spazio, sta l'interpretazione contemporanea della sfera armillare a significare l'eternità di una forma perfetta, universale e modernissima che viaggia nel tempo e nello spazio.
