Il Lago Cava Valsora nel 2022 ha ospitato una troupe di fotografi del National Geographic per fotografare il tritone alpestre, una specie di anfibio caudato della famiglia della salamandrida nato in questo luogo grazie all'azione di agenti atmosferici (acque piovane) che insieme alla presenza di microresidui di carbonato di calcio (residuo della lavorazione del marmo) hanno sigillato le fessure presenti nelle pareti di marmo consentendo la formazionedi un'importante lago (60X30 mt.)
