Una meravigliosa oasi lontana da tutto: imponenti e sinuose dune di sabbia fine, calda e dorata, alte fino a 60 metri, modellate dal maestrale, si estendono dall'entroterra per vari chilometri sino a tuffarsi nel mare azzurro, sconfinato e lucente. Piscinas, 'gioiello' della Costa Verde - nel territorio di Arbus –, è simile a un dipinto orientale, un paesaggio che lascia senza fiato, una spiaggia imperdibile nella tua vacanza nell'Isola, inserita tra le più belle del mondo da National Geographic. Dopo aver percorso sentieri sterrati e sabbiosi, vedrai aprirsi all'improvviso la sua immensa e profonda distesa dorata, lunga sette chilometri. All'orizzonte azzurro del mare e del cielo si fondono, mentre le dune di sabbia brillante, dichiarate patrimonio dell'Umanità dall'Unesco, si mescolano ai colori della macchia mediterranea. La vegetazione cresce rigogliosa: ginepri secolari dai rami contorti, lentischi e olivastri che formano piccoli boschetti e, in primavera, violacciocca, giglio di mare e papavero della sabbia. Qui, ogni tanto, si aggira il cervo sardo, mentre sulla riva depongono le uova le tartarughe marine.
