Questa roccia calcarea che si trova nell'appennino Modenese par esser uno di quei misteri che si perde nella notte dei tempi. Conosciuta già da epoche antichissime aveva nel passato,si parla di almeno 2000 anni fa la funzione di ponte,sotto il quale passavano le acque di una fonte dalle proprietà termali ora incanalata dall'uomo, e da luogo di bagni e di funzioni rituali di purificazione. Sono stati trovate diverse monete di epoca Romana che ne indicano un luogo di offerta votiva. Oggi si presenta come vedete dal mio fotogramma e.... Non smette certo di incuriosire questo monolite che solo in piccola parta e' stato modificato e modellato dall'uomo che già nel passato ma ancor oggi non si spiega come questa roccia si sia formata e sia stata posta in questo luogo! E chi lo sa!! Allora la credenza popolare in timore e in rispetto di questo grande e funzionale monolite ha ben pensato di chiamarlo il: PONTE DEL DIAVOLO
