In addition to the goodness of the details on the mantis, I find the composition and delicacy of the background very pleasant.

Thanks Nicola, I remember shooting also using f5.6 aperture with even more delicate background.
Surely I will look at them all in the coming days, too bad that monitor has deceived me about exposure.

Hello Mark, image from Poster. Great. (I did not know that mantises were rare from you, in the summer in my garden I also have to sell, during the hoes in June I find many small ones just over a centimeter, I would like a lot to photograph them but they are very active that they run away and for this reason I let it go in photographing them). Hats off and I tell you from the heart. Hello, good night.

Thank you very much John,
I never understood the reason for the rarity of mantises, but there are very few.
With me they have always been very collaborative, every time I made them climb on a sprig they always remained still to be photographed.
That morning the mantis, a female, stood still in that pose for more than 20 minutes, sometimes it only turned its head to look at me.
Then she moved slightly, but never moved from the twig.
The ones you meet are still small and maybe they get scared.
