Morfasso è tra i maggiori custodi, se non il maggiore, del culto di Santa Franca. In quello che era chiamato il Monte di Lana, dove in tempi antichissimi fu eretto il monastero che ospitò per circa due anni (dall'ottobre del 1214 al maggio del 1216) Franca e le sue compagne, dal 1882 è presente un oratorio a testimonianza della devozione della popolazione locale per Colei che, nel raccoglimento di questi luoghi, insegnò alle giovani suore e ai popolani l'amore di Dio, la carità e la fede. A suo tempo proclamata patrona della Val d'Arda, Santa Franca è l' “amica” degli emigrati e da secoli viene festeggiata sul monte che ora porta il suo nome la prima e l'ultima domenica di agosto. L'oratorio, distante da Morfasso 6 chilometri, sorge ai lati di un meraviglioso pianoro circondato da faggi secolari, e in qualsiasi periodo dell'anno è méta dei tanti vacanzieri che vogliono godere di qualche ora di relax a diretto contatto con un luogo incantato. Circa 250 metri a monte dell'oratorio esiste il pozzetto di sorgente dove Franca e le sue compagne attingevano l'acqua per i bisogni quotidiani e, secondo la tradizione, si attribuiscono ad essa proprietà miracolose, tanto che è di prammatica berla e anche raccoglierla e conservarla come lenitivo delle malattie degli occhi.///Bronica 6x6 + PS 40mm + Kodak ektar 100
