La valle del Mis, insita quasi totalmente nel Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi è una valle provonda quasi 2000 metri. Al suo interno vi sono luoghi di aspra bellezza e immersi in una profonda solitudine. Tutto è molto lontano qui, anche le dolomiti sono un po distanti, ad est, ovest e nord. Qui si può camminare anche per 1/2 giorni senza incontrare anima viva, se non qualche camoscio, che porta con se un infinita sensazione di libertà. Ad est di questa valle (alla sinistra della foto) si aprono i Monti del Sole, di cui possiamo notare le propagini più basse e meridionali, una catena montuosa calcarea dal grande fascino alpinistico, dove grandi del passato come Franco Miotto, Riccardo Bee e l'ormai famoso scrittore Mauro Corona, e molti altri ancora, si sono cimentati in imprese eccezzionali e ardite.
