Montemagno è a mio avviso , uno dei più bei borghi del Monferrato . Situato in provincia di Asti , la sua fondazione si fa risalire all'anno mille ; il paese si sviluppa intorno al castello omonimo (o dei conti Calvi di Bergolo) tutt'ora di proprietà privata e posto in posizione sopraelevata , con i vicoli del paese che vi convergono . Montemagno è chiamato anche il paese del pane , una specialità locale , e in maggio infatti si svolge la festa "Pane al Pane" . Nella foto è ritratta la chiesa di S. Michele , ripresa dal sagrato della chiesa antistante , consacrata ai santi Martino e Stefano .
