Oltre una certa soglia è una coscienza che spiazza il “gioco più violento al mondo” (cit.). Forse più di un esperimento di ubiquità in una dimensione geometrica e caotica a cui si accede solo in un modo: fermi e immobili. A meditare una mossa. Scacchiera e tre presenze in una solitudine: i due giocatori e il gioco stesso degli scacchi, lo sfidante più oscuro. Il grande giocatore degli anni 60 e 70 il messicano Carlos Torre (quando si dice...omen nomen) aveva una piccola mania, andava in giro nudo perché “si concentra a tal punto sulla mossa che l'ultimo dei suoi pensieri è ricordarsi di vestirsi prima di uscire di casa”. Invece il maestro polacco Paulino Frydman durante le partite si alzava vestito e si metteva a correre e urlava “al fuoco, al fuoco”, poi come nulla fosse tornava alla scacchiera anche lui completamente nudo, non era bruciacchiato...era solo concentrato sugli scacchi ... (leggenda vuole che anche il matematico Archimede girasse nudo a Siracusa in preda ai suoi ragionamenti) ... Il grande russo Aleksandr Alechin viaggiava senza passaporto e privo di documenti; a chi gli chiedeva le generalità rispondeva “sono Alechin, a scacchi posso battere Dio anche bendato e dandogli un cavallo di vantaggio. Ho un gatto che si chiama Scacchi. Di me non c'è altro da sapere”: delle regole del mondo non lo riguardava. Per Bobby Fischer solo gli scacchi avevano un ruolo nella sua vita e vinse nel 1972 “la partita del secolo” sbaragliando da solo l'intera scuola scacchista sovietica in piena guerra fredda; poi rinunciò a difendere il titolo per sparire dal mondo con il desiderio di vivere in una casa a forma di torre. Durante una trasmissione televisiva dove due maestri si sfidavano, perse il nero, intervenne in diretta spiegando come in tre mosse il nero avrebbe vinto: naturalmente aveva ragione. Pazzo o il più grande di tutti. Il norvegese campione del mondo attualmente in carica ha ufficialmente detto basta parafrasando l'illustre precedente Fischer quando disse “ho già battuto tutti a questo mondo, trovatemi qualcuno che venga da un altro pianeta”. Non è un vezzo degli scacchisti, è un effetto collaterale proprio dei giocatori, la sua essenza più intima. Anche il cinema si è occupato del gioco....Kubrick nella sua Odissea immaginava sfibranti partite tra computer e umani....quando la realtà supera la fantasia, non poteva immaginare quanto accaduto recentemente a Mosca durante una partita tra i due contendenti: intelligenza umana (giocatore bambino) e intelligenza virtuale (giocatore robot), il robot per “frustrazione” ha rotto il dito al suo avversario. Forse il robot aveva un difetto di costruzione o sono gli scacchi a far fare cose strane......
