Dal cosiddetto “Belvedere”, la località posta ai piedi del Colle della Ranzola, Castel Savoia domina la vallata di Gressoney, meta di villeggiatura assai amata dalla regina Margherita. Realizzato per volere della sovrana, il castello di stile medioevale ha un aspetto fiabesco, esaltato da cinque torrette, una diversa dall'altra, che cingono l'edificio centrale. Se l'esterno è rivestito di pietra grigia da taglio proveniente dalle cave locali, l'interno è riccamente decorato da pitture ornamentali e boiseries, che fanno da vivace sfondo agli arredi di ispirazione medievale. Ovunque ricorrono richiami al fiore della margherita, in riferimento al nome della regina, le cui iniziali si riconoscono spesso nella dimora; cornici ornamentali ripropongono al loro interno i motti di casa Savoia.
