questi chorten illuminati da una calda luce serale sono posti su un piccolo colle adiacenti al monastero- si trovano a 4.030 m nell'alta valle del Suru e rappresentano il primo simbolo buddista dopo aver percorso la vallata per 100 km su pista con insediamenti mussulmani - qui pernotteremo i piccole tende già predisposte quale accampamento per chi transita- questa lande povere dedite solo alla pastorizia sono frequentate dai nomadi "bakarwals" che vivono dentro ripari di pietra in condizioni davvero disumane . poco oltre il passo Pensi-la con il grande ghiacciaio Drang Drung - dal valico una pista accidentata fini allo Zanskar -
