at 33mm, 1/250 f/3.2, ISO 8000, hand held. Vigoleno (borgo e castello), Italy.

In occasione dei restauri al Castello di Vigoleno, realizzati per volontà della principessa Maria Ruspoli Gramont (proprietaria del maniero tra il 1922 e il 1934) avendo ella deciso di risistemare e rendere abitabile l'intero castello che versava in grave stato di abbandono, vi fu adattato a teatrino una sala rettangolare posta al primo piano dell'edificio. All'artista russo Alexandre Jacovlef fu dato incrico di decorare le pareti della sala. Il pittore realizzò a tinte vivaci decori di gusto cinesizzante, rappresentando animali, maschere, figure esotiche e danzanti dalla connotazione simbolica, musici e dame in abiti settecenteschi, tra cui ritrasse la stessa principessa e una fitta vegetazione con tralci. Mentre al centro della scena una rappresentazione stilizzata del borgo medioevale riconduce al realismo magico di Gino Severini. Due semplici pedane al lati dell'entrata delimitavano l'area della platea da quella degli attori cui era destinata la pedana-palcoscenico in fondo alla sala. Un opportuno intervento conservativo ha reso nuovamente fruibile questo spazio.
