Tra tutte le tribù della valle dell'Omo, gli Hamer sono veri maestri nella decorazione del corpo. Sono famosi per la tipica pettinatura caratterizzata da dreadlocks intrecciati con grasso e ocra rossa. Le donne si decorano con conchiglie, semi, perline di plastica e indossano abiti di pelle di capra con perline che coprono la parte superiore del corpo. Inoltre adornano le loro braccia con molti anelli di ferro impilati.
