Eretta nel 1134, la chiesa abbaziale di San Benedetto che è anche la più antica Pinacoteca della città, è stata ricostruita tra il 1750 e il 1797 in forme tardobarocche, con un tiburio ottagonale e una facciata a due ordini sovrapposti; rimasta indenne alle distruzioni belliche, conserva al suo interno pregevoli tele datate tra il XVII e il XIX secolo. L'interno della chiesa presenta una navata unica, con cappelle laterali intercomunicanti, coperta con una volta a botte costolonata, stuccata e lunettata in corrispondenza di ogni finestra. All'interno della Chiesa si conserva il quadro della Madonna del Buon Consiglio di autore locale ignoto, al quale è legato un prodigio che sarebbe avvenuto il 10 luglio del 1796: mentre alcune donne erano riunite per il rosario davanti al dipinto "la Madonna apriva gli occhi e guardava i fedeli, poi il viso diveniva colore vermiglio. Alle volte l'occhio sinistro che guardava il Bambino si velava di pianto".Tra le altre tele presenti spicca quella dedicata a San Gregorio Magno realizzata dal pittore locale Mascetti nel 1899 ricopiando un affresco del pittore Gagliardi Roma. L'altare, adornato da stucchi barocchi, è dedicato alla famiglia Kambo. Sotto l'altare sono custodite e visibili le spoglie di un martire della cristianità. Salendo sul piccolo campanile si possono ammirare due campane dell'antica fabbrica settecentesca dei Cacciavillani e la campana, anch'essa settecentesca, dell'antica sede comunale oggi ufficio postale con l'antico stemma della città di Frosinone., appena entrato è spiccata ai miei occhi questa raffigurazione di Maria e Gesù.
