La prima volta che io e Barbara andammo all'oasi era per scattare e osservare dal Capanno. Era un luogo nuovo per noi e non ci aspettavamo altro che conoscere. L'oasi confina con campi e una classica pineta di costa Ravennate, per arrivare al capanno si attraversano i campi in auto sino al canale e poi si costeggia la pineta su uno stradino che si immerge nel limite tra Pini e Canneti. Proprio alla fine della mattinata, ormai al ritorno in macchina, nei campi scorgiamo un piccolo gruppo di Daini, circa 8 tra giovani maschi e femmine, ma a quell'ora improbabile, con il sole al tocco, sono in fuga tra macchie e grano per sfuggire al traffico di ciclisti e passeggiatori. Lontani, molto lontani. Però ci sono e quindi bisogna tornare. La seconda volta siamo andati alle 6 di mattina a cercare di capire dove giravano, se c'erano passaggi o se era stato un puro caso.... Eccoli, puntuali tra campi e pineta, ci muoviamo, li seguiamo con lo sguardo e binocolo ed esploriamo. Finalmente troviamo un passaggio ideale: Lungo un basso canale, al Limite della Pineta, tratti di rete chiaramente divelti, abbassati e piegati, è qui che passano sono sicuro! Ci sono anche escrementi... Attendiamo nascosti, ma non più di mezz'ora, eccola, una giovane femmina, che veloce esce dalla pineta e attraversa il canale perdendosi nel canneto sulla riva opposta. Troppo veloce, troppo spaventata, sono le 7:30 e già girano ciclisti. Oggi era il momento. Sveglia alle 3:30 e prima che sorga il sole ho parcheggiato l'auto. Alle 5:30 sono già appostato a venti metri dal passaggio, basso tra l'erba sui bordi dello stradino. E lui non mi delude, stavolta viene dai campi e esce dal canale verso la pineta; Si ferma, mi percepisce, mi vede e mi guarda. Ci siamo guardati per 10 o 15 minuti eterni. Un peccato che le foto non possano portare quei profumi, quei silenzi macchiati di richiami e di voli, un peccato che non si possano fotografare le emozioni....
