Stradello delimitato dalle classiche Laste, l'immagine è stata ripresa in Alta Lessinia, zona Sengio Rosso. “Il paesaggio dei Monti Lessini ha, come suo principale tratto caratteristico, l'essenzialità. Ciò significa che è interamente espresso dalle cose che gli danno forma, che non c'è nulla di superfluo, di non funzionale al suo essere, al suo esprimersi”. [Tratto da “L'architettura di pietra in Lessinia” di E. Turri]. L'uso della pietra della Lessinia o di Prun come materiale da costruzione ha origini antiche e, anche se la difficoltà del trasporto la rendeva meno comune rispetto ad altre pietre, vi sono molte testimonianze del suo utilizzo. Ne sono un esempio la pavimentazione di Piazza delle Erbe a Verona e le laste di confine che da circa 500 anni distinguono il paesaggio degli alti pascoli della Lessinia. Queste grandi lastre di pietra calcarea infisse a mano nel terreno e tenute in verticale solo da terra, scaglie e sassi, marcavano il territorio e le antiche vie di comunicazione per evitare che i viandanti si smarrissero e dividevano le cosiddette "montagne", cioè gli appezzamenti adibiti a pascolo che, durante la stagione estiva, consentivano ai malgàri di lasciare libere le mandrie sui prati.
