C'è il modo di dire "cervello di gallina" per indicare scarsa intelligenza di una persona, ma non è del tutto vero che le galline sono stupide. Anzi nel loro ambiente sono attente e intelligenti. Il galletto che ormai vive con noi da quasi 10 anni, per esempio, quando mi vede al mattino mi viene incontro e beccando per terra mi fa capire che vuol mangiare. Lo stesso gesto accompagnato però da particolari vocalizzi lo esegue anche per richiamare la chioccia e/o i pulcini laddove ha trovato cibo. Il galletto da circa 2 anni a questa parte è venuto a dormire sul nespolo vicino alla finestra di camera mia per sfuggire ai predatori e forse anche per la compagnia. Pure la chioccia preferisce stare intorno casa e non entra nel bosco, rimane sul bordo del bosco. Purtroppo gradisce molto stare con i pulcini sulla soglia della porta di casa e quindi sporcano non poco ...
