Arrivato letteralmente sotto le Tre Cime non potevo non girarmi ed ammirare la discesa vorticosa verso il Monte Paterno con le sue creste visitabili solo con attrezzatura da cordata che non possiedo, perciò nel primo commento inserirò un link dove vi potete gustare la veduta con drone girato da un mio amico, molto suggestiva. Adesso alcune nozioni da Wikipedia: Il monte Paterno, (Paternkofel in tedesco), è una montagna delle Dolomiti alta 2.746 m s.l.m.. Sorge nelle Dolomiti di Sesto al Confine tra Veneto e Alto Adige, a fianco delle più rinomate Tre Cime di Lavaredo. È storicamente famoso, dato che durante la prima guerra mondiale, si trovava lungo la frontiera tra il confine italiano e quello austriaco. Al suo interno furono quindi scavate alcune gallerie, tra cui la famosa galleria Paterno, per raggiungere la cima. Il Paterno è formato dall'intersezione di 3 creste: il Paterno vero e proprio a nord-ovest, la Croda Passaporto a sud e la cresta est, protesa verso il Pian di Cengia. Queste tre creste presentano diverse elevazioni e sono tutte attraversate dai resti dei camminamenti della Grande Guerra.
