I agree, with the colibri' you have to go up to 1/4000 of a second to stop the wings. I have to tell you, however, that I prefer the photos taken at 1/2000 second. If you manage to get good sharpness and proper focus on the eye, the moving wings give a sense of dynamism to the photo that I really like.
