But you know I wasn't aware of it? I read a little about the history of this "Church of the Dead" of Urbania and the strangeness that allowed to mummify many corpses.
It always gets to learn something, good Vincenzo.
A warm greeting.

In Italy there are other similar places, for example in the beautiful village of Venzone in the FVG.
It is a favored process thanks to the particular climatic conditions or mold present in the soil.
The story and what surrounds us tells that others before us have lived: true human beings with conscience and their own identity.

Nice testimony document of this beautiful place.
A Urbania I was there but not in this church,
For the mummies no hassle, nor do we also have in Roccapelago Apennine Modena and in others
locality, Portugal for example, where the walls are made with bones !!

The tour was guided with a description and son story of the time then lived, a reflection to appreciate our time.
Thanks Alexander of the passage and considerations.

The image is certainly "strong", of visual and emotional impact, and is an image that invites reflection. On the other hand, this is also an aspect of human life that cannot be pretended to be ignored.
Bese also the caption that brings me to know of things and places of which I did not even know existence 8-)

The visit was not simple because it was not like observing a painting, they were people with their history (hence the "dignity and nobility "), but I wanted to do it for an invitation to reflection, as you rightly remembered. Thank you for sharing.
A cherished greeting, Vincenzo
