Forse proprio da questa leggenda è nato il detto che quando una donna ritenuta cattiva fa il bucato, il tempo cambierà in peggio Il lago poggia su uno strato di argilla impermeabile, che impedisce all'acqua di disperdersi. Sulle sue sponde si possono ammirare una particolare vegetazione e fauna anfibia.
