Beautiful photo and beautiful details but I would like to ask a question.
The fact that only one hazelnut, the first, is perfectly fire makes cmq the photo TECNICAMENT correct?
Sicurably it's something the photographer wanted but is cmq a valid photo? Or would it be better to increase the depth of field to keep both subjects in focus being cmq so close?
This Sunday I too, chasing grunts, found myself in the same situation and did not know how to behave....
Thanks for anyone who wants to answer me

Alutful detail, colors, background and pose of the two subjects.

Thank you all :-)
@Maumi with all these mm even if I had doubled the closing of the focal, the resulting Pdc would still have been insufficient to focus both subjects. With firmer subjects there would be other ways to broaden the focus on both, especially in PP, but this is certainly not the case.
Otho just have to make the choice of fire and therefore compositional according to your own taste.

Great photo, in my opinion the close-up in focus and the second slightly blurred, is more in line with the human eye. Maybe technically I'm wrong, but it seems more right to me, since one of the hazelnuts is closer and the colors are virtually identical

I confirm that with that focal to have 2 subjects in focus, even if they are close together, it is impossible. I too would have preferred the closest also because you see whole, the other partially hidden can be that it is blurred. My opinion.
Tho the shot I find it beautiful, perfect background, beautiful natural colors. Maybe I make it a little bit attached to the left.... My opinion...
Compliments
