Si è una ripresa un pò insolita perchè è possibile riprenderli solo al tramonto, unico momento in cui la luce arriva sul nido, ma è meglio così perchè staranno al fresco nelle ore più calde di Luglio.
E' un soggetto molto legato al suo territorio e a volte si affaccia dal suo nido durante il periodo di cova e poi quando ci sono i piccoli prima di volare via verifica per alcuni secondi che non ci siano pericoli nelle vicinanze.
Il nido è sulla quercia a 30 metri da casa mia vicino al mio orto dove mi vede quando faccio dei lavori o taglio l'erba del campo, ma non ha mai abbandonato il suo nido, anzi tutti gli anni fa delle battaglie per cacciare i concorrenti che probabilmente sono maschi nati negli anni precedenti nello stesso nido.
