at 12mm, 1/125 f/6.3, ISO 640, hand held.

It has its own charm even so.
If you straighten it up a little bit I guess it's going out of the top frame.
Fore a less fully frontal point of view left you with the space you needed.
It's not my kind but a few days ago I was fixing similar photos and I noticed that it takes a lot of sky over.

Where the Cathedral of Siena is located there is not much room to maneuver a bit like the trevi fountain. I was attached to the wall. and I've already straightened out a lot, but more than that ... maybe with a fisheye then in straightening posts. or taking it by 3/4 but then the beauty of the facade goes to get fried. or maybe with a pure FF at 10mm...
Thotho dilemma.
Tha thousandth of the visit and Mauro explanation

I really like it. Composition, colors, detail, light and sky full of pathos. The slope is perfectly symmetrical with respect to the center line of the image.
My compliments, you did very well to post it.
A warm greeting
Carlo

The facade shines in all its beauty, thanks in part to the contrast you have managed to give with the sky. Hello, Emmanuel.

I go against the current photos with the inclination from below to monuments to skyscrapers I like quite
On the other side I photographed a black and white sunrise (early 2020 maybe an omen)
Why sincere compliments and many warm greetings

I like the result. but if you wanted to go further. it was enough to call the whole Juzina gang of the Sienas that captained by the great Matley would erect you above all obstacles to take back the Cathedral even better :-D

Dear Cinzia, for me you have found a very good compromise, as you have well explained there is not much room to optimize the shooting point, you should work with a fisheye but it worsens the deformation.

Sounds like a very good compromise to me, too. You don't want to photograph such a beautiful cathedral just because the square is short. And I think a more pushed wide angle would have distorted or created an overly contrived result. I really like it that way. Hello. Magù
