Shumi, una delle fantastiche anime che ho avuto l'onore di ritrarre alla fondazione Acid Survivors Foundation a Dhaka, in Bangladesh. Lei è solamente una delle tante eroine che chiedono giustizia rimuovendo il velo, mostrando con orgoglio i loro volti e facendo sentire la loro voce. Sono loro il vero simbolo di un destino crudele che sta cambiando. Hanno trovato il coraggio di reclamare la loro vita, sconfitto la violenza, la vittimizzazione e la disperazione grazie al coraggio di assumere in nuovi ruoli per gli altri.
