mentre rientro all'auto, deluso per non aver visto nulla, eccolo che mi passa sulla testa ed attraversa la valle. Compie un paio di giri all'imbocco di un canalone e poi si posa...non indugio un solo attimo, parto...salgo velocemente il canalone, mentre il cielo si copre in un istante. Non vedo quasi più nulla ma, cautamente, continuo. Mi fermo sovente per cercare di scovarlo prima che lui veda me, ma non riesco ancora a vederlo. Salgo ancora, mentre il terreno si fa ripido, ma ricco di grandi blocchi sporgenti che mi fanno da riparo. Ed è da sotto uno di questi che, mentre riprendo fiato, grazie ad una lieve schiarita, mi appare...è immenso, a pochi metri da me e, sopratutto, non mi ha visto. Passano i minuti e la nebbia va e viene ma non accenna a sparire del tutto. Decido di fare qualche scatto. Attendo che la nebbia si addensi per spostarmi e prendere una posizione comoda e poco visibile. Passano i minuti e, finalmente, si dirada...alcuni scatti singoli e la nebbia ci avvolge nuovamente. Lui mangia, spolpando una zampa di stambecco e, non appena il cielo si apre un pochino, prende il volo con l'osso tra le zampe, sorvolandomi a pochi metri. Non mi muovo di un centimetro, per non spaventarlo, ed attendo il suo ritorno. Non tarda molto che riappare, ma si posa più lontano, senza più l'osso.
