Non è una buona foto, ne sono consapevole e me ne scuso. Ho pensato di pubblicarla comunque, perché significativa della strategia di caccia dei leoni. Questa la scena. Tre leonesse sono sotto un cespuglio, alla nostra destra. Accucciate, ma vigili. A qualche centinaio di metri, lungo il fiume, dall'altra parte della strada, su cui intanto si sono fermati diversi veicoli, un folto gruppo di impala. Una delle leonesse si alza e avanza verso di loro, nascondendosi alla loro vista dietro le macchine. La seconda, attimi dopo, fa altrettanto. Le macchine avanzano a loro volta per poter assistere alla caccia. Un po' di esperienza ci induce a ritenere che sia più utile restare con la terza leonessa, perché quella che preparano è una manovra a tenaglia. Così, infatti, è. Le prime due leonesse raggiungono gli impala e li spingono verso la terza che, passando dietro alla nostra macchina, è ora alla nostra sinistra, nascosta sotto un cespuglio. Passano pochi istanti ed ecco che gli impala arrivano...
