Castello di BALESTRINO --- Il Castello di Balestrino e il suo borgo rimasto fermo nel tempo è stato il set cinematografico di “INKHEART”, film uscito nel 2008 in 73 Paesi.---- l'antico paese di Balestrino è il borgo dove il tempo si è fermato e regna solo il silenzio. Il paese fantasma è un luogo disabitato da mezzo secolo quando nel 1962-63 le frequenti frane portarono la popolazione a spostarsi più a valle e il vecchio borgo venne lentamente abbandonato, lasciandone il possesso alla natura. Per entrare in paese si percorre una viuzza che fiancheggia i muri delle case e che parte da quella che oggi è la piazza adiacente alla chiesa della nuova Balestrino. Ci s'immerge subito in un'atmosfera di pace e silenzio. Tutto si è fermato in questo borgo abbandonato, anche l'orologio della Chiesa e l'antica meridiana non segnano più le ore. Le case sono tutte in pietra e pericolanti, è vietato visitarle (la zona è chiusa da strutture di protezione metalliche). Lo sguardo viene catturato dall'imponente struttura del Castello che, dalla sua posizione di dominio, vigila ancora oggi sopra all'antico borgo disabitato.
