It looks incredible, but this photo is exactly as it came out of the camera - I didn't do any work with Photoshop! What you see is a room at home, with a monstrous distortion caused by the rolling shutter of the electronic shutter. The larger the sensor, the harder it becomes to make a fast electronic shutter: the medium format cameras are therefore subject to very strong rolling shutter artifacts, if (in electronic shutter mode) photographed with fast times and the subject or camera move. I took this photo with a very fast shutter speed and I quickly moved the camera while shooting, and the result is this surreal effect. Obviously, it is an extreme test, in normal use the rolling shutter is much less obvious - I use the electronic shutter in the landscapes and with slow times the rolling shutter distortion is reduced to zero. Alternatively, with the mechanical shutter you will not have any distortion even with fast times.

To avoid confusion : it is not a criticism of the GFX100, with the current technology it is inevitable that such a sensor will show a lot of rolling shutter effect, and in fact Fujifilm uses the mechanical shutter by default (which avoids the problem). However, I appreciate the possibility of choosing the electronic shutter in areas where the rolling shutter does not show up, e.g. Landscapes.
