La Pieve di San Pietro, dedicata a San Pietro Apostolo splendida opera di epoca longobarda, fu eretta intorno all'anno mille ma già fin dal VII e VIII secolo rappresentava il luogo di incontro dei fedeli che affluivano per le numerose funzioni religiose. Venivano soprattutto per il battesimo. La Pieve infatti era l'unica Chiesa ad avere il privilegio di possedere il fonte battesimale e il suo territorio comprendeva le località di Formeniga, Refrontolo e Collalbrigo. La struttura architettonica, a capanna in stile romanico a tre strette ed alte navate, con il bellissimo porticato sulla facciata e sul lato del campanile, è interessante ed originale. All'interno l'architettura è di grande fascino, ma comunque essenziale: vi sono tre strette navate divise da arcate a tutto sesto su grossi pilastri rettangolari. Sullo sfondo si apre un'abside semicircolare con pitture a strati sovrapposti Nel catino dell'abside domina il trecentesco 'Cristo Pantocrator' e tracce di figure più antiche. Sulla controfacciata restano le tracce del 'Giudizio Universale'.. Le pareti della navata centrale sono interamente affrescate con opere di vari autori e con raffinati accenni al gusto bizantino, che spaziano dal XIII al XV secolo. Bellissima la cappella del fonte battesimale, decorata da affreschi di fine quattrocento che illustrano la vita e il martirio di San Sebastiano. Il pittore che ha affrescato l'interno della pieve è ignoto, ma probabilmente era artista di terraferma tra Treviso e Belluno, formatosi forse nella scuola di Antonio Vivarina. Lo confermano la tipologia dei volti, la definizione dei capelli, nonché gli abiti e le calzature: caratteristiche che fanno presumere l'attività di costui anche a Serravalle e precisamente presso la cappella Galletti della Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. All'esterno, isolato, il campanile del XVI secolo ispirato a quello di Aquileia. La scalinata esterna, verso la strada principale, è invece ottocentesca. Tutti gli affreschi sono stati 'riscoperti' a fine '800 sotto lo strato di pittura bianca che li ricopriva da quando furono giudicati 'vecchi' e consunti dal tempo e come 'ripulitura' dopo le varie pestilenze. In epoca recente si è provveduto ad importanti e delicati lavori di restauro per consolidare le strutture dagli effetti del terremoto del 1873.
