Solita uscita di fine settimana; domani, Domenica 12 Maggio è prevista pioggia che poi c'è stata. Esco di Sabato e vado nella Cava S. Maria, pochissimi km da Modica. Giornata primaverile, primo caldo in questo pazzo maggio. Dopo 2 ore di camminata, nn vedo ombra di orchidee e, francamente, nn speravo di trovarne più vista la stagione. In un sentiero più assolato che ombrato, percorso anche da mtb, mi fermo per una sosta per rinfrescarmi la bocca, abbasso lo sguardo e vedo un'infiorescenza del tutto somigliante (dal colore), ad una comunissima pianta. Mi abbasso a guardar bene e ti vedo lo stelo quasi rinsecchito, classico delle orchidee; inforco gli occhiali e con mia grandissima sorpresa, per la prima volta, vedo un'orchidea dai fiori direi microscopici. L'infiorescenza totale, a forma di palla, nn supera i 5 cm. di diametro, ma i singoli fiori nn superano i 6-7 mm. Uno spettacolo da lente d'ingrandimento se si considerano le dimensioni delle normali orchidee selvatiche. Li ho potuti apprezzare, solo fotografandoli in macro, ed osservandoli ingranditi nel display. Ne carico tre scatti di cui uno, per poterne apprezzare le dimensioni. Il nome potrebbe essere quello del titolo, ma chiedo aiuto all'amico Roberto o a chi può riconoscerla. Per quanto mi risulta, la miglior "caccia" della stagione, nn tanto per la bellezza in se, ma proprio per le inusuali dimensioni.
