Minimal, artistico, decisamente fuori dall'ordinario. Stavolta il Vaticano ha scelto la sabbia per raffigurare la nascita di Cristo. Un materiale povero, anzi poverissimo a simboleggiare qualcosa che il tempo non può trasformare, né tantomeno consumare proprio come indica il Vangelo di Matteo, in quel passaggio in cui fa riferimento alla stabilità della casa se non poggia sulla roccia. La sabbia scelta da Papa Francesco diventa così una metafora privilegiata della condizione umana, destinata sì a essere ridotta in polvere, nell'ordine delle cose terrene ma sulla quale concentrare preventivamente tutta l'attenzione per aspirare al cielo. La Sacra Famiglia, la nascita del bambino Gesù, i Magi, la meraviglia dei pastori, lo stupore degli angeli che annunciano del piccolo Re tanto atteso. (fonte "il messaggero")
