Questo cimitero di guerra, risalente alla I° Guerra mondiale, si trova a Prosecco (Trieste). Qui riposano c.ca 200 soldati dell'esercito Austroungarico morti nei pressi del Carso durante il grande conflitto; quasi nessuno visita questo luogo, i parenti dei caduti forse non sono nenche più vivi e sicuramente non abitano nei dintorni. E' buffo, quasi tragico, pensare che io a 50 anni era la prima volta che mi accorgevo della sua esistenza e parlando con altri colleghi fotografi (impegnati in una mostra sulla I° guerra) solo alcuni sapevano che c'era questo luogo solo grazie ai cartelli "turistici" Duecento uomini morti (solamente in questo sito, ma ve ne sono molti altri) e oggi a nessuno interessa più. Per fortuna c'è un accordo con l'Austria per tenere pulito il sito, altrimenti oltre che dimenticato sarebbe anche inghiottito dalla folta vegetazione Carsica.
