Il complesso di Capo di Bove si affaccia al IV miglio della Via Appia Antica, a circa 500 m di distanza dal Mausoleo di Cecilia Metella. Si tratta di un'area verde di circa 8.600 mq Quando la proprietà fu messa in vendita nel 2002, la Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma e il Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali decisero di acquistarla esercitando il diritto di prelazione, dato l'interesse archeologico dell'area (come sancito anche da un vincolo specifico). Dopo l'acquisto, è stato effettuato uno scavo nel giardino, che ha portato in luce un impianto termale della metà del II secolo d.C. con fasi edilizie fino al IV secolo e tracce di uso agricolo-produttivo riferibili al periodo tardo antico, quando la zona rientrava nel Patrimonium Appiae (vasta tenuta agricola di proprietà ecclesiastica). Delle terme rimangono decine di ambienti, pavimentazioni a mosaico e in marmo colorato, vasche idrauliche, tubuli in terracotta, l'impianto fognario e porzioni dei rivestimenti in lastre di marmo e intonaco dipinto.
